Our Story
What was your first impression of her/him?
She was always the nice kid at church. I always thought it was so interesting that Clare and Tony (Clare’s brother) cried on each other’s shoulders during our youth group camps. I thought, ‘damn, they have such kind souls.’
James
We first met when he was 12 and I was 10. I thought he was a smart, smiley, tall guy who really loved dogs. And honestly, once you get to know him, you realise… that’s exactly who he is! And that’s the man I love dearly ♡
Clare
How did you fall in love with her/him?
During the KAWS exhibition was the first time Clare showcased her true personality. Funny and very adorable. I knew at that moment that every day I spent with her would be filled with joy. (wowowow)
James
I had a little crush on him back in high school hahaha. Then I fell again for his smile, his silly sense of humour, and how he surprised me with the depth of his thoughts. I loved his curiosity, his imagination, and the way he could see things from perspectives I’d never thought of before.
Clare
The moment you realised they were the one?
There was not an exact moment when I knew she was the one. But if you asked me at any moment in our relationship if Clare was the one, I would have said ‘yes’ 99.99% of the time.
I'm not sure if it was when she took care of me when I was sick, or how she was always sleeping in my car with her mouth open during any drive longer than 15 minutes, or all the night calls where her voice was the last thing I heard every day.
It was all so natural that it's a no-brainer at this point. And I don't need a magic moment to say this because all the moments have been magical looking back.
James
James became such a natural part of my everyday life that I couldn’t imagine my life without him.
Over the seven years we have been together, he has shown me time and time again that he’s someone I can truly trust. I think that kind of love, the special kind that grows quietly through ordinary days, is what made me realise that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
